The Los Angeles Lakers agreed to terms Monday on a one-year deal for free-agent center Chris Kaman, ESPN.com reports.
Kaman will reportedly receive the league's mid-level exception salary.
The Lakers, who lost out on the Dwight Howard sweepstakes, are gearing up for next summer to try to land another high-level free agent. They will have plenty of money to spend as the contracts of Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Metta World Peace, Steve Blake and Jordan Hill all come off the books.
