When an anti-A-Rod comparison takes a turn for the worse. Gammons apparently made these comments on the Mike Lupica Show on ESPN NY today:

Here's the relevant part transcribed:

Lupica: ...I keep holding out hope -- just for the good of the sport -- that there is still a deal to be made on this suspension.

Gammons: I wonder now though... And I've had people on the Yankees say this to me: he just wants to blow up the world. He's like the marathon bombers. He's gonna get them... We all understand he didn't test positive per se...

All in all, sounds like a poor choice of metaphor, couched in something a Yankees person told him. Gammons has since responded and apologized:
