Marlins get RHP Bryan Morris from Pirates for 39th overall pick in 2014 Draft

The Miami Marlins on Sunday acquired right handed pitcher Bryan Morris from the Pirates in exchange for their 39th overall competitive balance pick in the 2014 amateur draft on Thursday, according to the Pirates' tweet.
The 27-year-old Morris has a 3.46 ERA in 92 2/23 career innings -- 81 appearances -- since making his MLB debut in September 2012. He's also given up 42 walks along with 57 strikeouts. He was selected No. 26 in the 2006 draft.
The Marlins are off to a surprisingly hot start with a 28-28 record, good for second in the NL East behind the Braves. The Pirates are second-to-last in the NL Central at 25-30.
