Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo says he is not looking to leave Boston and that he didn't try to convince Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love to come to the Celtics.

Rondo spoke about his future and said he has confidence in team president Danny Ainge to put together the best team because he wants to win now.

Both Rondo and Love are entering the final year of their contracts, which could make them attractive trade options. Rondo is set to make $12,909,090 next season, while Love is on the books for $16,744,218.

“I talked to Kevin for about 39 seconds,”

Rondo said, via the

. “It was all over the web? Well, we do work together. We played against each other. We compete, so when I saw Kevin, I spoke, wished him good luck on his time here in Boston.

He spent a couple of days here in Boston and I told him I spent a couple of months here in Boston.”

The Celtics finished with a 25-57 last season, and Rondo played in 30 games while he was working his way back from ACL surgery.

“Well, at the end of the day, I want to win, I want to win now,” Rondo said. “And I’m sure Danny will have the guys in here to compete for a title. I don’t just want to make the playoffs and get to the first and second rounds. And I feel when I make the playoffs, I expect to win every time.”
