When video game maker EA announced Seattle Seahawks defensive back Richard Sherman as its newest Madden 15 cover athlete, it probably didn't think it would have a fight on its hands. But that's exactly what has happened as Sherman, who defeated the Carolina Panthers' Cam Newton in a fan vote, has informed EA that he isn't happy being the sole cover man.
“I’ve been trying to get the Legion of Boom on the cover, and EA has been fighting me,” Sherman told Seahawks.com. “So if everybody wants to start a petition to get the Legion of Boom on the cover, here it is, here’s an open invitation.”

There hasn't been any official comment from Electronic Arts in regard to Sherman's "request," though one would likely assume the company is against such a move. EA has traditionally shied away from having multiple athletes on the cover of the yearly video game; Madden 10 was the only release featuring two players, Larry Fitzgerald of the Arizona Cardinals and Troy Polamalu of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
