Former Marquette Star Reportedly Has Rough Stance on Miami Heat

This former Marquette Golden Eagles star doesn't seem to have many good feelings about his old Miami Heat squad.

Former Marquette Golden Eagles star Jimmy Butler has never been shy about vocalizing his opinion on things, and sometimes (okay, frequently), it has gotten him into trouble.

Butler began the 2024-25 NBA season with the Miami Heat, but was dealt to the Golden State Warriors at the trade deadline after demanding to be moved.

The Marquette legend engaged in quite the drama with the Heat throughout the year, resulting in Miami suspending him multiple times.

Well, it seems that Butler is much happier in his new surroundings with the Warriors.

ESPN's Shams Charania has revealed that the 35-year-old believes Golden State is "better than any other organization he's been a part of" and that Butler is evidently making much more of an effort in the Bay than he did in South Beach.

"This is different for Jimmy Butler going to Golden State," Charania said on NBA Countdown. "He’s staying late for shootaround. He’s staying late for practices. He’s spending so much time in the training room, the meal room."

Perhaps Butler is enamored with the championship culture with the Warriors, something he definitely didn't experience with the Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves or Philadelphia 76ers. And while the Heat have won a few titles throughout their history, they clearly were fading fast over Butler's last couple of seasons there.

In seven games since arriving in Golden State, Butler is averaging 18 points, six rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.4 steals over 29.7 minutes a night while shooting 45.8 percent from the floor.

What's more, the Dubs have gone 6-1 since his arrival to re-emerge as contenders in the Western Conference.
