San Diego State Fans Won't Believe This Kawhi Leonard Stat

Former San Diego State Aztecs forward Kawhi Leonard is kind of a forgotten star in the NBA thanks to his brutal injury issues for the better part of the last decade.
Case in point, Leonard missed the first two-and-a-half months of the 2024-25 campaign as a result of offseason knee surgery, but he returned to the court in January and has been slowly getting his legs underneath him ever since.
Lately, the Los Angeles Clippers star seems to have flipped a switch and has been displaying flashes of his vintage self, including his 33-point, 10-rebound showing in the Clippers' loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night.
ESPN's Brian Windhorst spoke about Leonard's outing on Monday and revealed a rather interesting tidbit about the six-time All-Star in the process.
“Let me tell you how bad the Clippers wanted to win this game," Windhorst said on Get Up. "They played Kawhi Leonard almost 40 minutes in this game. He hadn’t played that many minutes since November of 2023."
Leonard is averaging just 28.1 minutes per game through 19 contests this year. The Clippers seem to be ramping up his playing time lately, as he also played 38 minutes in the previous game and has tallied over 30 minutes in each of his last seven appearances.
It should also be noted that Leonard did have a few days of rest last month, but now, the six-time All-Star is kicking things into gear with the playoffs around the corner.
What's more, the 33-year-old has not been fully healthy for a playoff run since 2020. Hopefully, the San Diego State legend will be able to compete in the postseason unfettered this time around.
