New York, NY (September 10, 2018) – Sports Illustrated today announces that one of its most highly regarded NFL experts, Albert Breer, will be assuming a larger role in the brand’s “Monday Morning Quarterback” (MMQB) franchise, which has become a go-to place for the best NFL coverage. In his role as Lead NFL Reporter/Content Strategist, Breer will take the lead on the highly popular MMQB column on SI.com, host a new NFL show “The MMQB TV” for the brand’s streaming network SI TV, and launch a new weekly podcast “MMQB NFL.”

“From breaking news and the behind-the-scenes details of contract negotiations and league maneuvers, to his insight and analysis based on a vast network of sources, Albert has helped shape and lift our NFL coverage and energize The MMQB and SI,” says Mark Mravic, Executive Editor of The MMQB. “We’re looking forward to a great 2018 season, which will only build on those strengths.”

Breer, who joined The MMQB in June 2016, is one of the most connected and trusted NFL insiders in the business, having previously covered the league for the Boston Herald, Dallas Morning-News, Boston Globe and NFL Network. With The MMQB, he has been out front on the leading stories in the game, and has been the face of SI’s NFL video coverage on SI TV’s weekly programming and special shows around the postseason and the NFL draft. Last June, Breer picked up the reins of SI’s popular Monday Morning Quarterback column from Peter King, the longtime lead of MMQB. Breer, along with Jenny Vrentas, Robert Klemko, Andy Benoit, Jonathan Jones, Tim Rohan, Conor Orr, Kalyn Kahler, Greg Bishop, Ben Baskin and the rest of SI’s NFL staff have made The MMQB the No. 1 online destination for coverage of America’s No. 1 sport.

“I can’t say how excited I am to take on more responsibility and carry on the legacy that has been built over the last six years,” says Breer. “More than anything else, I’m pumped to keep working with the outstanding MMQB team, continue to build on what we’ve accomplished this far and find new and innovative ways to cover the most popular sport in the country.”

Each week during the 2018 NFL season, Albert Breer will be hosting SI TV’s new show, “The MMQB TV” alongside popular personality Andrew Perloff and former NFL linebacker Bart Scott. In collaboration with the experts at Pro Football Focus, the show offers unique and informed analysis from around the NFL. From insider information to perspective from those who played in the game, “The MMQB TV” tackles the NFL conversation every Wednesday in-season.

Additionally, this season the MMQB franchise is introducing a new suite of podcasts. From Sunday’s football action, to analyzing film or getting answers to some burning NFL questions, the MMQB podcasts have it all covered. With a rotating cast of hosts including Albert Breer, Andy Benoit and Gary Gramling, each episode provides an informational look around the NFL.
