Steve Trivett began his golf-writing career in the early 1960s as a part-time employee for the Pensacola (Fla.) News Journal, where he covered Arnold Palmer and Gary Player in their Pensacola Open victories. He since has written for newspapers in Colorado and Florida, most recently spending 17 years as the golf writer for The Villages (Fla.) Daily Sun. Trivett lives in The Villages.
