A bad beat in the Lakers-Bulls game kept us from going undefeated last night but we will get it back tonight. We have a nine-game NBA slate to work with this evening that includes a return to action for Karl-Anthony Towns and Joel Embiid after their dust-up last week. The Bucks and Clippers square off in a possible Finals preview, the Rockets are trying to lay a big number vs the Warriors and MVP candidate Trae Young and the Hawks are looking to lay a short number at home vs the Bulls. I have three best bets on the night. Let's run it up.

Washington Wizards vs. Indiana Pacers: Wizards +4

The Wizards are 5-1 against the spread to start the season, and they are clearly undervalued thus far. The Wizards only have a pair of wins on the season but they have losses to the Rockets, Timberwolves, Spurs and Mavericks, some of the better teams in the Western Conference. The Wizards covered the number as underdogs in all of those games. Tonight the Wizards are catching four points on the road vs. a Pacers team that has not looked good this season. Indiana has three wins on the season, two of them vs. the Bulls and Cavaliers. The Wizards are a live dog tonight and an easy play for me. I would also drip on the money line.

New York Knicks vs. Detroit Pistons: Under 207

So this one will be a snooze-fest but there are plenty of other viewing options to keep you occupied as we root on a Knicks-Pistons under. The Knicks have only played in one game that has gone over the number this season. They consistently struggle to put up over 100 points, Detroit isn't much better offensively. The Knicks average 99 points per game, the Pistons 105. This number opened up at 211 and sharp money bet it down to 207. I'm going to side with the sharps on this one and go under the number.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Memphis Grizzlies: Timberwolves -4.5

Karl-Anthony Towns has paid the price for his skirmish with Joel Embiid last week and gets to return to the Timberwolves lineup tonight. Towns has been excellent this season, scoring 27 points per game. Ryan Saunders’s team has played well to start the season, with wins over the Heat and Nets, plus a blowout victory at Washington without Towns. The Grizzlies are 1-5 straight up and 1-5 against the spread. The Grizzlies have played some very good teams this season, but they aren't even coming close to covering the spread. The Timberwolves should get an easy road victory.

Season record: 11-4
