Shane Mosley's Biggest Fights
Manny Pacquiao
Mosley was a 9-to-1 underdog against Pacquiao, the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. Pacquiao knocked Mosley down in Round 3, only the third time in Mosley's career that he's hit the canvas. Mosley scored a mistaken knockdown in Round 10 but was largely dominated for the entire fight and lost a unanimous decision.
Floyd Mayweather
Mosley was a 4-to-1 underdog against the undefeated Mayweather, but looked primed for an upset early when the two met at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Mosley rocked Mayweather with a pair of right hands in the second round, but couldn't finish the job as the younger, slicker Floyd escaped with a lopsided decision victory.
Antonio Margarito
Mosley, 37, was a 4-to-1 underdog as the challenger for Margarito's WBA welterweight title. Many decried the fight as a mismatch, but Mosley turned back the clock and dominated Margarito throughout eight violent rounds before the referee stopped the fight early in the ninth.
Ricardo Mayorga
Mosley scored a 12th-round knockout of Mayorga with just one second remaining to earn a title shot with Antonio Margarito.
Luis Collazo
Mosley secured the WBA's interim welterweight title with a unanimous-decision victory over the cagey Collazo.
Fernando Vargas II
Less than five months after their first meeting, Mosley scored a sixth-round knockout of Vargas in the rematch.
Fernando Vargas I
Mosley turned in a spectacular performance with a 10th-round TKO of Vargas in a WBA light middleweight title eliminator in Las Vegas.
Jose Cruz
After consecutive defeats to Winky Wright, Mosley got back on track with a victory over the previously unbeaten Cruz.
Oscar De La Hoya II
Mosley became a three-division champion with a second narrow decision victory over De La Hoya in their rematch for the light middleweight title. The triumph was later marred by Mosley's admission in grand jury testimony to designer steroid use while training for the fight.
Vernon Forrest I & II
Mosley's career ascent was halted in 2002 with back-to-back losses to Forrest in a pair of memorable welterweight title fights.
Oscar De La Hoya I
Mosley made nine successful defenses of the IBF lightweight title before moving up two divisions to face De La Hoya for the WBC welterweight championship. After 12 back-and-forth rounds, Mosley emerged with a split-decision victory.
Philip Holiday
Mosley (23-0) got a shot for the IBF lightweight title against Holiday in a clash of unbeatens at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Conn. After 12 rounds, Mosley won a unanimous decision and the belt.
