Floyd Mayweather vs. Marcos Maidana 2 set for Sept. 13 in Las Vegas

Floyd Mayweather, Jr. will be returning to the ring on Sept. 13. On Thursday, Mayweather announced he will be taking on heavy-handed Argentinian Marcos Maidana at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in a rematch of their May 3 bout from earlier this year.

In their first meeting, Mayweather scored a majority decision victory. Judge Michael Pernick scored the fight a 114–114 draw, while Judge Dave Moretti had it 116–112, and Burt A. Clements scored the bout 117–111 in favor of Mayweather.

Despite two judges clearly scoring the bout in favor of Mayweather, the fight was enough to bring some intrigue into the mix and book a rematch that will generate plenty of pay-per-view buys.

Mayweather vs. Maidana 2 will be for the WBC, WBA (Super) and The Ring Welterweight titles.
