Gennady Golovkin set to fight Dominic Wade on April 23
Unified middleweight title holder Gennady “GGG” Golovkin and Dominic Wade have agreed to a title fight on April 23 at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif., K2 Promotions announced on Wednesday.
The fight will be the 16th title defense for the 34-year-old Golovkin (34–0, 31 KOs) and his second at the Forum.
Golovkin, originally from Kazakhstan, is based out of the Los Angeles area.
“I'm happy to fight again at the Forum in front of my fans and friends in Los Angeles,” Golovkin said in the announcement. “Dominic Wade is a very hungry and skilled middleweight who is undefeated and will be another big test for me.”
The power fighter has claimed knockout victories in each of his last 21 fights, including an eighth-round KO of former IBF middleweight title holder David Lemieux in October.
