The Grey Cup crowns the champion of the Canadian Football League each season.

While the Grey Cup is the CFL’s title game, it is also the name of the actual cup given to the winner each season. Named for Albert Gray, the former Governor General of Canada donated the trophy in 1909. Back then, it was given to the top amateur rugby football team in Canada.

The game has been contested more than 100 times, though it was not played from 1916-18 (World War I), 1919 (rules dispute with Canadian Rugby Union) or in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 1954, amateur teams stopped competing for the Grey Cup and it was given only to professional teams.

Here is a list of the champions of the Grey Cup, dating back to 1909.
