There was some turnover in the Calgary Stampeders’ secondary this week, as the team said goodbye to Shaquille St-Lot and signed Josh Thomas and Meiko Dotson.

St-Lot was drafted by the Stampeders in the seventh round of the 2022 CFL Draft and posted two tackles in two games with Calgary last year. During his two seasons at Maine, St-Lot made 41 total tackles, 18 pass deflections, two fumble recoveries and one interception in four games.

Thomas appeared in four NFL games with the Buffalo Bills and Arizona Cardinals, making five total tackles. He also attended training camp with the Carolina Panthers.

In 56 games with Appalachian State, Thomas racked up 163 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, seven interceptions, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. His performance in 2019 helped earn him a Second Team All-Sun Belt Conference selection.

Dotson was most recently with the New Jersey Generals of the USFL, contributing 14 tackles last year. He attended rookie minicamp with the Houston Texans in 2022.

After spending the bulk of his college career at Georgia Tech, Florida Atlantic and Garden City Community College, Dotson transferred to Florida State and posted 21 tackles and a forced fumble in 10 games.

Calgary opens the season on June 7 at home against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
