Calgary Stampeders Sign Two Players From Practice Roster

The Calgary Stampeders signed two players to the roster, including quarterback Chris Reynolds and offensive lineman Brandon Weldon.

Two Americans offensive players are being signed by the Calgary Stampeders to their roster. The team made the announcement on X of the addition of quarterback Chris Reynolds and offensive lineman Brandon Weldon.

Reynolds is getting brought up from the practice roster after being the third quarterback on the depth chart for the first nine games of the 2023 season. He appeared in one game against the BC Lion, completing 1-of-2 passes for five yards. For the rest of the season, the team had him on the practice roster.

He got extended time during the preseason, completing 16-of-21 passes for 181 yards and one touchdown. The Stampeders saw him add seven yards on the ground in the preseason as well.

During his college career at UNC Charlotte, he owned career school records for passing yards (10,266) and passing touchdowns (84).

Weldon entered the 2023 season as a rookie for the Stampeders and was able to appear in three games this season. He started those games at left tackle, with his first career starting being against the Edmonton Elks at the Labour Day Classic.

While in college last season, Weldon was a First-Team All-Big Sky Conference selection at guard for Sacramento State.

These moves make it eight players that have been signed to their active roster after adding six on Monday.
