The CFL has elected to make a tweak to the schedule for Week 3 of the preseason, with all four games now being played on Friday, May 31 as a pair of doubleheaders, the league said Tuesday morning.

Two games were shifted as part of the move. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats' matchup with the Toronto Argonauts has been bumped up from Saturday, June 1 at 1 p.m. ET to Friday, May 31 at 7 p.m. ET, and the Montreal Alouettes and Ottawa Redblacks game will be played 30 minutes earlier at 7 p.m. ET.

Here is the full schedule for Week 3 of the CFL preseason:

  • Friday, May 31 - Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Toronto Argonauts, 7 p.m. ET
  • Friday, May 31 – Montreal Alouettes at Ottawa Redblacks, 7 p.m. ET
  • Friday, May 31 – Calgary Stampeders at Winnipeg Blue Bombers, 8:30 p.m. ET
  • Friday, May 31 – Edmonton Elks at BC Lions, 10 p.m. ET

In its press release, the league cited a desire to create a “Friday night football frenzy” with all games taking place the same evening.

The 2024 CFL season begins on June 6 with a Grey Cup rematch between the Montreal Alouettes and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
