It’s the news that Hamilton Tiger-Cats fans have been waiting for, as they have successfully re-signed one of their top players. TSN’s Dave Naylor reported Monday Hamilton brought back CFL All-Star wide receiver Tim White on a two-year contract, keeping him through the 2025 season.

White has been among the best wide receivers in the CFL over the last two seasons, catching 75 passes in 2023 for a career-high 1,269 yards and eight touchdowns, which tied his career-best. His 16.9 yards per catch was also the highest of his career, and he earned a spot on the CFL All-Star team.

The 2022 season yielded similar results, with White hauling in 94 receptions for 1,265 yards and eight touchdowns and earning his first CFL All-Star team honors. The 29-year-old receiver also had a strong 2021 rookie campaign with 56 receptions for 774 yards and two touchdowns. While he didn’t make the CFL All-Star team, he did land on the CFL East All-Star for the third straight year.

Before taking the trip north to Canada, White played three seasons in the NFL from 2017 through 2019, spending time with the Baltimore Ravens, New York Jets and New Orleans Saints. He made one catch for 14 yards while also returning nine punts for 75 yards in three games with the Ravens in 2018.

Entering free agency, White was ranked as the third-best free agent in the CFL. Hamilton was able to successfully bring back last year's second-leading receiver in Terry Godwin II on a contract last week. The Tiger-Cats have successfully signed or re-signed six players so far this offseason.
