Montreal Alouettes Agree to Terms with DL Isaac Adeyemi-Berglund, WR Tevin Jones
Montreal Alouettes have been focused on re-signing their top talent so far this offseason, but that now shifts to bringing in new faces. 3DownNation’s JC Abbott reported Wednesday that the team has agreed to terms with defensive lineman Isaac Adeyemi-Berglund and wide receiver Tevin Jones.
Adeyemi-Berglund agreed to a two-year deal with the Alouettes that will keep him through the 2025 season. Jones will be signing a one-year deal.
The Calgary Stampeders selected Adeyemi-Berglund in the first round of the 2021 CFL Draft, and he proved to be one of the team’s top pass rushers. He finished 2023 with 23 total tackles, five sacks and one forced fumble in 18 games following a 20-tackle, eight-sack campaign in 2022. In 2021, the 27-year-old had 18 tackles and one sack in 14 games.
Jones has spent the past two seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, earning a bigger role last year. He finished with 65 receptions for 882 yards and three scores in 17 games. The Amory, Mississippi native caught 20 passes for 265 yards and three touchdowns his rookie season.
The moves are significant for the Alouettes, giving them both a rotational defensive lineman who can contribute on special teams, and another weapon for quarterback Cody Fajardo following the departure of Austin Mack, who signed with the Atlanta Falcons this offseason.
Both players will not be able to officially sign with Montreal until free agency begins on February 13.
