CFL fans are finding a whole new appreciation for Montreal Alouettes quarterback Cody Fajardo after watching his pregame speech to the team just one day before upsetting the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the 110th Grey Cup 28-24.

The Alouettes team’s X (formerly Twitter) page released a one-minute and nine-second video that shows Fajardo standing in front of the team during a team meeting on Saturday speaking to the team.

During the video, he discussed how when he first signed with the team, the media had Montreal ranked as the ninth team in the rankings out of the nine teams in the CFL. That’s when Fajardo told the team that his reaction to those rankings was four simple words.

“F*** you, just watch!”

He repeated this phrase when bringing up the toughest moments of the season including their four-game losing streak, the team not hosting a playoff game, being underdogs in the East Final against the Toronto Argonauts, being underdogs again against Winnipeg, and Fajardo being 0-9 against Blue Bombers quarterback Zach Collaros.

Fajardo finished the speech by telling his teammates and coaches how much he loves and appreciates them while also telling them how he will give everything he has to win. He closed it out with the repeated explicit phase before walking off to a roaring round of applause from the team.

As of the release of this article, there have been over 441,000 impressions on X with over 1,100 likes. Many have reposted it, including Fajardo himself.

Fajardo went on to win the Grey Cup MVP after throwing for 290 yards and three touchdowns.
