A source close to Lache Seastrunk tells SI.com the Temple, Texas running back will verbally commit to Oregon Wednesday afternoon.

Considered one of the nation's top running back recruits, Seastrunk was originally considered a USC lock. But the departure of former Trojans head coach Pete Carroll led Seastrunk to re-consider his options. The source said Seastrunk settled on Oregon in early January, around the time he played in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

Seastrunk, a top five national running back recruit, also considered Auburn, LSU and Memphis, but settled on Oregon because of the comfort he felt during his official visit and the fine football facilities in Eugene, the source said. The prospect for early playing time was also a factor.

Seastrunk recorded 1,085 all-purpose yards this fall. He has fantastic hips and perhaps the best footwork of anyone in the class of 2010. He is also a talented receiver out of the backfield with under-appreciated hands.
