Nate Montana

Following in his father Joe's Hall of Fame footsteps, Nate Montana has seen limited playing time as a quarterback at Notre Dame. He originally joined the team as a preferred walk-on in 2008 before transferring to Pasadena Community College for a brief stint during his sophomore year. Now back with the Fighting Irish, he's listed at No. 2 on the depth chart behind Dayne Crist.

Mark Ingram

After winning the Heisman Trophy for his outstanding 2009 campaign, running back Mark Ingram continues to punish defenses in 2010. The son of former New York Giants wideout Mark Sr., Ingram ripped off 308 rushing yards and four touchdowns during his last two games, against Duke and Arkansas.

Austin Collinsworth

The son of eight-year Bengals wideout Cris, Austin Collinsworth joined Notre Dame after being named EA Sports second-team All-America at Highlands High in Kentucky in 2009. A multi-purpose player in high school, Austin is a wide receiver for the Irish.

Jerry Rice Jr.

An undersized 5-foot-11, 175-pound wide receiver, Jerry Rice Jr. (inset) is a walk-on, redshirt freshman for Rick Neuheisel's UCLA Bruins.

Casey Matthews

Staying true to his family's linebacking lineage, Casey Matthews has been a ferocious defender during his four years as an Oregon Duck. He has a sack and two interceptions to start his senior season, and has recently grown out his hair to mirror his father, Clay Sr., and brother, Clay Jr.

Nick Toon

A junior for the Wisconsin Badgers, wide receiver Nick Toon made headlines in Madison last season by breaking out for 805 receiving yards and All-Big Ten honorable mention recognition. This season, the son of three-time All-Pro Al Toon has been less effective, hampered by a turf toe injury that has kept him out of the Badgers last three games.

Mike Golic Jr.

A legacy recruit in South Bend, Ind., Mike Golic Jr. has seen little action heading into his junior year at Notre Dame. The center played seven minutes and 13 seconds during his first two seasons, including making three appearances on special teams.

Jake Golic

The other son of former Eagles DT Mike Sr., Notre Dame tight end Jake Golic joined his brother in the navy and gold last season. Despite his staggering 6-4, 235 pound frame, Jake did not see any playing time during his freshman year and has yet to make a catch in 2010.

Davin Meggett

After racking up 457 and 338 rushing yards over the past two seasons, Maryland running back Davin Meggett is off to a quick start for the Terps. Sharing backfield responsibilities with Da'Rel Scott, Meggett has raced for 268 yards in four games, including a 76-yard touchdown scamper against Florida International last week that put the game out of reach. Davin's father is Dave, a former Pro Bowl running back for the New York Giants.

Greg Lloyd

Greg Lloyd Jr. has been a defensive force for Connecticut over the past two years, starting 20 games for the Huskies and sacking the quarterback a striking 12 times. The son of former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Greg Sr., Lloyd switched to defensive end before UConn's 2010 season.

Matt Simms

Quarterback Matt Simms has thrown for 836 passing yards and six touchdowns in 2010 while leading the Tennessee Volunteers to an early 2-2 start. Matt, the son of two-time Super Bowl Champion Phil, also played at Louisville and El Camino Community College before transferring to Tennessee.

Nick Montana

Broadway Joe's other son, Nick Montana, is a freshman quarterback at the University of Washington. Montana joined the Huskies after passing for an impressive 2,636 yards and 34 touchdowns during his senior season at Oaks Christian High. He has yet to see any playing time behind highly-touted NFL prospect Jake Locker.

Cameron Heyward

A second-team All-Big Ten selection, Ohio State defensive tackle Cameron Heyward has attracted plenty of attention from NFL scouts. Through Saturday, Heyward had racked up 121 tackles and 11 sacks during his career in Columbus, including 10 tackles for losses during the Buckeyes' Rose Bowl winning season last year. Heyward is the son of former NFL running back Craig "Ironhead" Heyward.

Duron Carter

Wide receiver Duron Carter compiled 176 receiving yards and one touchdown in his first and last season as an Ohio State Buckeye in 2009. Carter, the son of former Vikings wideout Cris, enrolled in Coffeyville Community College in Kansas to improve his academic standing before the team's 2010 campaign.

Drew Butler

University of Georgia punter Drew Butler kick-started his career in 2009, when he led the nation in punting average while being named an All-American and the winner of the Ray Guy Award. Butler, the son of former Bears and Cardinals kicker Kevin, is averaging 44.3 yards a punt through four games in 2010.

Chase Minnifield

A cornerback at Virginia, junior Chase Minnifield has been dominant early in the 2010 season, tallying three interceptions during the Cavaliers 2-1 start. The son of former Cleveland Browns cornerback Frank, Minnifield has been equally dynamic as a kick-return specialist, sprinting for 513 return yards in 2009.

Bob Hebert

Coming off an unremarkable 2008 season, LSU center Bob Hebert posted a noteworthy 2009, starting 11 games for the Tigers and contributing 42 knockdown blocks. Hebert was suspended indefinitely after being arrested for a DWI charge in May though, and the son of former New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons quarterback Bobby Sr. has not seen any playing time since.

Jared Greene

Virginia Cavaliers receiver Jared Green posted his first statistics of the season last Saturday, hauling in four passes for 63 yards and a touchdown in UVA's 48-7 rout of Virginia Military Institute. The son of former Washington Redskins cornerback Darrell, Green has remained relatively quiet during his time in Charlottesville, totaling only 268 receiving yards in his freshman and sophomore seasons.
