Cam Newton
Cam Newton won the Heisman Trophy on December 11, 2010. Nearly one month later, he led Auburn to a BCS title game victory over Oregon. Newton passed for 265 yards, two touchdowns and one interception and ran for 64 yards in the win. Here's how the other Heisman trophy winners have performed on the nation's brightest stage.
Mark Ingram
Ingram rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns as the Crimson Tide defeated the Longhorns 37-21 in the BCS title game.
Sam Bradford
Bradford passed for 257 yards and two touchdowns, but his two interceptions ultimately cost the Sooners, who lost to Florida 24-14 in the BCS title game.
Troy Smith
Smith was only 4-of-14 for 35 yards with one interception as Ohio State fell to Florida 41-14 in the BCS title game. Smith also ran 10 times for minus-29 yards.
Reggie Bush
Bush ran for 82 yards and a touchdown, caught six passes for 95 yards and had 102 yards on five kickoff returns. In all, he had 279 all-purpose yards, but it wasn't enough to stop Vince Young and the Longhorns, who defeated USC 41-38.
Matt Leinart
Leinart passed for 352 yards and a record five touchdowns as the Trojans beat Oklahoma 55-19 in the Orange Bowl.
Jason White
White was 13-for-37 for 102 yards with two interceptions as the Sooners lost to LSU 21-14 in the Sugar Bowl.
Eric Crouch
Crouch ran for 114 yards, but was only 6-for-15 passing for 62 yards as the Cornhuskers lost to Miami 37-14 in the Rose Bowl.
Chris Weinke
Weinke was 25-for-51 for 274 yards and two interceptions and a fumble as the Seminoles lost 13-2 to Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl.
Charles Woodson
Woodson intercepted a pass in the end zone and returned a punt 15 yards to set up a touchdown as the Wolverines defeated Washington State 21-16 in the Rose Bowl.
Danny Wuerffel
Wuerffel threw for 306 yards and three touchdowns and ran for a TD as the Gators defeated Florida State 52-20 in the Sugar Bowl.
Charlie Ward
Ward became the first Heisman winner since Tony Dorsett to win the national championship, throwing for 286 yards as the Seminoles beat Nebraska 18-16 in the Orange Bowl.
Gino Torretta
Torretta passed for 278 yards but was intercepted three times, including one that was returned for a touchdown, as the Hurricanes were beaten 34-13 by Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.
Vinny Testaverde
Testaverde threw five interceptions as Miami lost to Penn State 14-10 in the Fiesta Bowl.
Mike Rozier
Rozier ran 25 times for 147 yards, but sprained his ankle in the third quarter and was lost for the rest of the game as the Cornhuskers lost 31-30 to Miami in the Orange Bowl.
Tony Dorsett
Dorsett ran for 202 yards and a touchdown as Pittsburgh defeated Georgia 27-3 in the Sugar Bowl.
