The following extremely enlightening statement from Florida State University has alerted us to the dismissal of senior cornerback Greg Reid. Dig in:

Florida State Head Football Coach Jimbo Fisher announced Wednesday that Greg Reid has been dismissed from the FSU football team for a violation of team rules.

Well, that just explains everything. Reid was arrested last month on suspended license and drug possession charges, but if that's what got him kicked off the team, Fisher's not saying.

As a corner, Reid recorded 27 solo tackles, five pass breakups and two interceptions in 2011, but where he truly excelled for the Seminoles was punt returning. Reid was the nation's 17th-ranked PR athlete, with 37 returns for 416 yards and a touchdown last season.
