Rivals' Top RBs in 2013 Recruiting Class
Derrick Green
Green already looks like a professional running back, and he was unstoppable against high school competition. Despite sitting out the second half of a number of blowouts, the Richmond, Va., native still rushed for 1,350 yards and 21 touchdowns as a senior. Green committed to Michigan on Jan. 26.
Thomas Tyner
The Beaverton, Ore., star has twice decommitted and recommitted to Oregon, but he looks to be solid with the Ducks even after Chip Kelly's departure. Oregon should be happy to keep their local star: Tyner rushed for 643 yards and 10 touchdowns in a game in September.
Greg Bryant
The Delray Beach, Fla., product rushed for 1,447 yards and 17 touchdowns as a senior, and he surprised many by committing to Notre Dame. Bryant also performed very well in U.S. Army All-American Bowl practices and could see the field for the Irish in 2013.
Ty Isaac
The prolific back from Joliet, Ill., finished his high school career with more than 5,000 rushing yards. Isaac is committed to USC, but other schools are trying to sway him away from heading to Los Angeles.
Taquan Mizzell
Nicknamed "Smoke," Mizzell is a terrific all-purpose back who rushed for more than 1,300 yards and accounted for more than 2,000 all-purpose yards and 31 touchdowns in his senior season. The Virginia Beach, Va., native is currently committed to coach Mike London and the in-state Cavaliers.
Derrick Henry
The 6-foot-3, 243-pound back is the nation's all-time leading high school rusher, and now he's heading to Alabama to continue his legacy. The pride of Yulee, Fla., broke a 59-year-old record previously held by Ken Hall of Sugarland, Texas, by surpassing Hall's 11,232 career rushing yards in November.
Kelvin Taylor
The son of former NFL Pro Bowler Fred Taylor, Kelvin started for Glades Day School in Belle Glade, Fla., beginning in eighth grade. Bound for Florida just like his father was, he finished his high school career with 12,019 rushing yards, 192 touchdowns and two state championships.
Alvin Kamara
Considered a late bloomer by some pundits, Kamara was arguably the best running back in Georgia this season. The all-purpose dynamo anchored Norcross High's state championship run with more than 1,500 yards and 20 touchdowns. Kamara signed with Alabama on Signing Day.
Keith Ford
The Cypress, Texas, standout rushed for 1,869 yards and 24 touchdowns in his senior year and starred in the Under Armour All-American Game. Ford is currently committed to Oklahoma.
Altee Tenpenny
Long considered one of the best running backs in the 2013 class, Tenpenny has been committed to Alabama since January 2012. However, reports have surfaced that he is supposedly weighing Arkansas since Bret Bielema was hired.
