West Virginia added another piece to its backfield on Friday by landing former Houston tailback Charles Sims, reports the Houston Chronicle's Joseph Duarte.
Sims opted to transfer from Houston earlier this month and reportedly considered a move to the NFL through the supplemental draft on July 11. Instead, the senior will join coach Dana Holgorsen's offense in Morgantown, where he will be eligible to play immediately following his graduation from Houston in May.
Sims carried 142 times for 851 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns in nine games for Houston last season. He also made 37 catches for 373 receiving yards and three scores. Sims helped the Cougars average 479.6 total yards per game, second in Conference USA in 2012.
