Former Texas quarterback Connor Brewer is transferring to Arizona, Jason Jewell of Scout.com reports.

Brewer, an Arizona native and one of the most prolific quarterbacks in the state's history, was also considering Alabama and Notre Dame.

The redshirt freshman tweeted his decision late Monday night. Brewer's high school coach, Charlie Ragle, is the Wildcats' tight ends and special teams coach, and wide receiver Davonte' Neal, who transferred to Arizona from Notre Dame, is Brewer's old prep teammate.

An early enrollee with the Longhorns in January of 2012, former four-star recruit Brewer ranked as Rivals.com's No. 10 pro-style-quarterback in the country and the No. 5 player at any position in the state of Arizona. This past spring, Texas early enrollee Tyrone Swoopes jumped Brewer on the depth chart for the No. 3 spot behind starter David Ash and backup Case McCoy.

As a quarterback at Chaparral high school in Paradise Valley, Ariz., Brewer became the first player in Arizona history to win three consecutive state championships. He threw for 7,574 yards and 100 touchdowns along the way, including 43 touchdowns and only five interceptions as a senior.
