No. 19 Florida will be without starting quarterback Jeff Driskel for the rest of the season, Gators coach Will Muschamp confirmed to CBS sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson after Florida's 31-17 win over Tennessee on Saturday.
Driskel appeared to roll his ankle while being tackled on Florida's second series of the game. He was seen leaving the field on crutches and did not return. After the game Mark Long of the Associated Press reported that the injury is a broken tibia.
Driskel was replaced by redshirt junior Tyler Murphy, and Muschamp confirmed that Murphy will be the Gators' starter moving forward. Murphy finished 8-of-14 for 134 yards and one passing touchdown while carrying 10 times for 84 rushing yards and another score.
Driskel congratulated his teammate for stepping up in the win.
