Oklahoma running back Damien Williams has been dismissed from the Sooners' football team, coach Bob Stoops confirmed at his Monday press conference.
Williams and wide receiver Lacoltan Bester were suspended for last weekend's game against Kansas State for a violation of team rules. Stoops said Bester served his suspension and should return to practice this week.

Williams rushed for 553 yards, seven touchdowns and 114 carries this season. As a junior college transfer from Arizona Western Community College in 2012, Williams played in all 13 games and started nine for the Sooners last year. He was named All-Big 12 Second Team and Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year Honorable Mention by the coaches after rushing for 946 yards and 11 touchdowns last fall.
