Justin Cobbs

Who should be more embarrassed: Memphis' Joe Jackson or California's Justin Cobbs?

Jackson tried a windmill dunk in the middle of a close game, only to get an earful from head coach Josh Pastner. Cobbs wedged the ball between the rim and glass on a a breakaway layup.

or

Our pick? Got to go with Jackson. Up five on the road against a pesky UCF club, you take any points you can get. Cobbs' blunder actually ended up benefiting the Golden Bears, as officials called the play a jump ball, Cal retained possession and converted a three pointer a few seconds later.

Doug McDermott plays hero with a questionable no-call?

GIFs never lie, man. Check out  what "Creighton Otter" of White &Blue Review is calling a "super screen" by the Bluejays' Isaiah Zierden to free up the NPOY candidate.

There really is no place like home when the game is tied in the final 10 seconds.

#BBN In Disarray?

Kentucky appears to be nothing more than a young and talented group of players who are struggling to compete at a high level on the road. We've seen this before during the John Calipari era, but when your point guard is physically acting as an extension of the head coach when on the court, as opposed to figuratively (a compliment), there's legitimate cause for concern.

Least Impressive Taunt of the Week

I was always under the impression that the Oakland Zoo was a proud student section. A crowd full of cool kids. Perhaps this student's attempt at bringing the funnies is an anomaly, but 2009 was four years ago, kid.  You can do better than this, especially when you're trying to rattle a guy like Jabari Parker. Nike unveils throwback uniforms

How can a #brand #engage with their fans and consumers? Manufacture flashy looking throwback jerseys, unveil them via social media, of course, and announce to fans when their favorite team will don the new threads. It is a shoe-in to go #viral.

But seriously though, they do look gorgeous. The uniforms will be worn during select games in February.

Russ Smith becomes a last-minute homecoming date

Louisville was idle last weekend, but that didn't stop the always exuberant Russ Smith from making headlines.

Sitting in attendance at Louisville's duPont Manual High School's girls basketball homecoming double-header, Smith was approached by brave freshman girls player Tonysha Curry, whose date did not show up.

Smith, as you can see, not only saved the day, but may have made the girl's adolescent life.

After being coerced by her teammates to ask Smith, Curry approached Smith after her game, and the Cardinals' senior guard responded exactly how you would expect him to.

Smith was in the building to support a former U of L student manager who is now assistant high school girls coach. The whole thing is very serendipitous.

Remember Troy Bell?

Boston College's all-time leading scorer and two-time Big East Player of the Year is currently playing overseas in Italy. But on the side he's got a bit of a singing career going. If you follow him on Instagram... ladies... you can bet on a weekly serenade just like this:
