Maryland landed a big name for its recruiting class when five-star offensive tackle Damian Prince committed to the Terrapins on Wednesday. He becomes one of the best recruits to sign at the school under coach Randy Edsall.

Prince has been rumored to be leaning toward Maryland for a while. He took an official visit to Florida last weekend, but reportedly preferred to stay closer to his Forestville, Md., home. The 6-foot-5, 292-pound lineman is the No. 2 offensive tackle in the class of 2014, and the No. 1 overall recruit in the state of Maryland, according to Rivals.com.

During a press conference on ESPNU, Prince said that the number of Big Ten lineman drafted in recent years helped him in his decision to play for the Terrapins. As Maryland prepares for its first season of Big Ten play in 2014, Prince could start immediately at one of the two tackles spots.

Prince's commitment marks a big day for the Big Ten, as well, which is hauling in some of the country's top prospects.
