Rutgers and Washington will have some cross-country traveling to do in future football seasons. The two teams are set to face off in a home-and-home series during the 2016 and '17 seasons, the schools announced Thursday.
The matchup will replace a series between the Scarlet Knights and UCLA, which has been pushed back to the 2020 and '21 seasons.
Rutgers and the Huskies have never met in football. The two teams will clash in Seattle on Sept. 3, 2016, in the season-opener. The Huskies will then open the '17 season against the Scarlet Knights in Piscataway on Set. 2.
