Mississippi State shows off new football uniforms to celebrate stadium anniversary

When Mississippi State kicks off its season against Southern Miss on Aug. 30, it will do so wearing vintage uniforms to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Scott Field, which will also be memorialized with a patch on the front of the jersey.

The maroon uniform features the words “Hail State” across the chest, a phrase made popular at Mississippi State and taken from the school’s fight song. Instead of players' names on the back, the adidas-designed threads will feature the word “Bulldogs” below a patch of an outline of the state of Mississippi.

The design aims to resemble the look of the school’s 1990s-era motif, including when the team won the SEC West in '98. The maroon base is highlighted by two white stripes across the arms and player numbers high on the shoulders. All the white lettering and stripes are outlined in black.

The Bulldogs will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field this season by increasing capacity from 55,000 to more than 61,000 via expansion in the north end zone.
