Ex-Kansas PG Naadir Thorpe will join the NBA D-League next season
Former Kansas Jayhawks point guard Naadir Tharpe has decided to head to the NBA D-League rather than be forced to sit out a transfer year, according to CBSSports.com's Jon Rothstein.
Tharpe decided to leave Kansas after spending three seasons with the team. He averaged 8.5 points, 5.0 assists and 2.1 rebounds as a junior in 29.4 minutes per game.
Pro Basketball Talk reports that Tharpe originally hoped to transfer to a school to be nearer to his infant daughter, but he told Rothstein he later decided not to spend a year off the court.

"I didn't want to sit out," Tharpe said on Wednesday. "At this point, I'd rather just try the D-League instead of sitting out a year to play a year [in college]."
