Report: Texas RB Johnathan Gray to be fully cleared next week
Texas Longhorns junior running back Johnathan Gray is expected to be fully cleared for workouts next week, reports Jeremy Fowler of CBS Sports.
Gray tore his Achilles tendon last November during the Longhorn's 47-40 overtime win over the West Virginia Mountaineers. Prior to that, he had amassed 780 yards and four touchdowns on the year for Texas, who went 8-5 last season.
Fowler reports that Gray been working out throughout the summer while recovering, but now doctors are ready to give him full clearance.
On Thursday, Gray was named to the Doak Walker watch list, an award given to the nation's top college running back each season.
