Report: Texas quarterback David Ash cleared to practice

The Texas Longhorns offense is back at full strength for coach Charlie Strong's first season at the helm.
Quarterback David Ash and running back Johnathan Gray were medically cleared to practice Monday, along with linebacker Jordan Hicks, reports Kirk Bohls of the Austin American-Statesman.
Ash was granted a medical redshirt last season after missing 10 games with a concussion, but was recovering from a broken foot he suffered in spring practice. Gray and Hicks were both recovering from torn Achilles. Gray tore his on Nov. 9 against West Virginia, while Hicks suffered his injury Sept. 21 against Kansas State.

Despite missing four games, Gray still rushed for 780 yards on 159 attempts last season. He was named to the Doak Walker watch list last week. All three are expected to slot into starting roles when healthy.
Texas opens its season on Aug. 30 when it hosts North Texas.
