Syracuse will host former Big East rival St. John's on Saturday, Dec. 6, the university confirmed to Syracuse.com Monday.
Syracuse left the Big East for the Atlantic Coast Conference last year. The old conference foes played last season at Madison Square Garden, with Syracuse winning 68-63.
Coach Jim Boeheim will need to replace several starters from last year as C.J. Fair graduated and Tyler Ennis and Jerami Grant left school early for the NBA.
Syracuse finished last season 28-6 after opening the season with 25 straight wins. The Orange were upset by Dayton in the third round of the NCAA tournament.
St. John's went 20-13 last season, losing in the first round of the NIT.
