Report: Texas safety Josh Turner reinstated to program
Texas senior safety Josh Turner was reinstated to the team after meeting with head coach Charlie Strong, reports the Austin American-Statesman.
Turner was dismissed from the team last week.
Turner had 37 total tackles in 12 games last season and is projected to be the team’s starter at free safety this year.
Strong also reportedly dismissed running backs Joe Bergeron and JalenOverstreet and defensive back Chevoski Collins last week for violating team rules. Kendall Sanders and Montrel Meander remain indefinitely suspended after being charged with sexual assault.

More from the Austin American-Statesman:
Strong made his final decision after he and the player had a midday meeting on Wednesday. Turner must follow strict rules, something akin to a zero-tolerance policy with the coaching staff, to remain in good standing.
