Nebraska running back Adam Taylor suffers broken ankle

Nebraska running back Adam Taylor suffered a broken ankle in Saturday's practice, the school announced Monday.
Taylor, a redshirt freshman, was a four-star recruit coming out of high school. He was ranked the nation's 18th best running back by Rivals.com.
According to the Huskers' website, Taylor was expected to compete for playing time behind All-America running back Ameer Abdullah.

The Huskers have also already lost three key defensive players for the season. Linebacker Michael Rose and defensive back Charles Jackson both suffered season-ending knee injuries, while safety LeRoy Alexander has been suspended for the entire 2014 season.

Nebraska opens the season on August 30 against Florida Atlantic.
