Weber State Wildcats vs. Arizona State Sun Devils

Arizona State will open its 2014 season against FCS opponent Weber State. The Sun Devils finished last season at 10-4 overall and 8-1 in conference play, winning the Pac-12 South. They dropped their final two games, though: first to Stanford in the conference title game, then to Texas Tech in the Holiday Bowl. Weber State was just 2-10 last season, including 1-7 in conference. The Wildcats finished in 11th place in the Big Sky.

Head coach Todd Graham is 18-8 through his first two seasons leading the team. 

Most of the team's offensive starters from a season ago are returning, including quarterback Taylor Kelly, but only two starters from last year's defense are back: defensive tackle Jaxon Hood and safety Damarious Randall

Arizona State is ranked No. 19 in the preseason AP Top 25.

The Wildcats allowed 41.4 points and 475.8 yards per game last season. 

Last season's leading passer, Austin Chipoletti, transferred to UAB. The Wildcats' offense will be led by sophomore quarterback Billy Green, a transfer from BYU. 

Jay Hill enters his first season as the Wildcats head coach. He was an assistant coach with Utah for the past 13 seasons.
