The opening week of the 2014 college football season concludes Monday night with a game between the Miami Hurricanes and Louisville Cardinals. Last season, the Hurricanes finished with a 9-4 record, while Louisville wrapped up its first season in the AAC with a 12-1 record. The two teams capped off their season with a meeting in the Russell Athletic Bowl, with Louisville winning 36-9.

Miami Hurricanes facts:

Miami head coach Al Golden is entering his fourth year with the team. Since 2011, Golden has led the Hurricanes to a 22-5 record.

The Hurricanes return 14 starters in 2014, including five offensive players, seven defenders and one specialist.

Miami will be unveiling its new uniforms for the 2014 season. 

Miami leads the all-time series against Louisville 9-2-1, but Louisville has won the past two meetings. The Hurricanes are 4-1 when playing in Louisville.

Senior linebacker Denzel Perryman led the team with 108 tackles last season.

Louisville Cardinals facts:

Louisville will enter the season with a new head coach in Bobby Petrino. This will be Petrino's third stint with the Cardinals and second as the school's head coach.

Cardinals wide receiver DeVonte Parker needs just six touchdowns to break the school's all-time record, which was set in 1999. Parker currently has 28 touchdowns in his Louisville career.

Last season, the Louisville defense ranked as the top unit in the nation, but the defense is returning just four starters in 2014.

The Cardinals are entering their 96th season as a football program. Since beginning in 1912, Louisville has a 478-441-17 record with 18 bowl appearances.

Louisville's game against Miami will mark its ACC debut.
