Ex-Maryland commit Trayvon Reed headed to Auburn
Former Maryland commit Travyon Reed has pledged to Auburn after visiting the school Thursday, Reed told Scout.com.
Reed was arrested in July, allegedly for theft, and denied enrollment to Maryland after failing to meet athletic department standards. He will attend a prep school in Florida for the first semester this season before going to Auburn in December with hopes of playing during the second term.

The 7-foot-1 center said new Auburn coach Bruce Pearl was a main factor in his decision.
“I like the situation that he has coming to Auburn,” Reed said. “I feel like he’s a good coach and I feel like he can make me better as a person on and off the court. He can make me a better basketball player and a person.”
Reed also cited Auburn's proximity to his home in Mobile, Ala. as a factor.
“I just wanted to be in my hometown,” he said. “”I feel like Auburn was my best decision.”
A four-star recruit, Reed was the No. 91 player in the 2014 class according to Rivals.
