Ohio State OL Chad Lindsay quits football due to injury
Ohio State center Chad Lindsay announced in an email to media on Monday that he will stop playing football because of an injury.
Lindsay transferred from Alabama this summer. He started four games for the Crimson Tide last season and would have been eligible to play immediately after graduating.
From The Plain Dealerin Cleveland:
As Penn State football returns to normalcy, will it remember its past?
"As most of you know, I sustained a serious injury during fall camp and, unfortunately, was re-injured last week," Lindsay wrote. "As a result, and after careful consideration, I have determined that it is time for me to walk away from football.
"I have had a great career and I will always be grateful for so many wonderful experiences. I would like to thank Coach Meyer, the coaching staff, players and trainers as it has been an honor to be a part of The Ohio State University football family. I wish the team great success for the remainder of the season. Go Buckeyes!"
Ohio State is replacing four starters on its offensive line from last season. The Buckeyes (1-1) host Kent State on Saturday.
