Texas quarterback David Ash is done playing football, coach Charlie Strong announced on Wednesday.
Concussions limited Ash to only three games last season, and he suffered another concussion in the first quarter of the season opener against North Texas.
Over parts of four seasons with the Longhorns, Ash completed 385 of 613 pass attempts for 4,728 yards with 31 touchdowns and 18 interceptions.

Sophomore Tyrone Swoopes has taken over Ash's place as the starter.
The Longhorns are 1-2 this season with a win over North Texas and loses to BYU and UCLA.
