Report: Texas A&M will pay $300,000 for new grass field
Texas A&M will pay $300,000 to have a new grass field shipped in from North Carolina, reports the Bryan-College Station Eagle.
The grass at Kyle Field was soaked with 4.5 inches of rain in less than 24 hours last weekend, which made for poor field conditions when the Aggies took on Rice on Saturday.

The new sod will come from Carolina Green and is being shipped in on 24 refrigerated trucks, according to the report. The sod will have a much thicker sod base than the grass that was installed in August, and will take less time to take a firm hold at Kyle Field.
The Aggies don't play at home again until an Oct. 11 game against Ole Miss. The new field will reportedly be installed the week of Sept. 29.
