Nebraska fan injured by mirror which fell from press box

A Nebraska fan attending Saturday's game against Rutgers suffered a 1.5-inch gash on his head when he was struck by a mirror that fell from the press box.

A Nebraska fan attending Saturday's game against Rutgers suffered a 1.5-inch gash on his head when he was struck by a mirror that fell from the press box.

According to the Lincoln Journal-Star, Carlton Clark, a retired judge, was struck in the head by a "4-by-6 inch black, handheld mirror" during halftime. A woman sitting nearby was cut by a piece of shattered glass from the mirror. Both were taken to a first aid station. Clark's cut continued to bleed, so his son took him to a hospital, where he received eight staples to close the wound.

The Journal-Star speculates that the mirror fell from ESPN's broadcast booth, but adds that Clark's seats are not directly below the booth.

Clark, a season ticket holder, says he plans to attend Saturday's game against Purdue.
