Texas A&M Aggies vs. Auburn Tigers

Auburn looks to stay alive in the SEC West and College Football Playoff race when it hosts Texas A&M on Saturday. The Tigers are coming off a dramatic 35-31 win over fellow contender Ole Miss, while the Aggies escaped Louisiana-Monroe 26-21 to snap a three-game losing streak.

The Tigers are tied for second in the SEC West with a 4-1 conference record (7-1 overall), while the Aggies are in sixth place in the division at 2-3 (6-3 overall). The teams have met on just four occasions all-time, with each winning one game since Texas A&M entered the SEC in 2012.

Texas A&M

11/1: Texas A&M 21, Louisiana-Monroe 16

Making his first career start in place of Kenny Hill, who served the first game of a two-game suspension, Kyle Allen threw for 106 yards and a touchdown. The win made Texas A&M bowl-eligible for a school-record sixth straight season. Defensive end Myles Garrett had 3.5 sacks to increase his season total to 11, breaking the SEC freshman record of 11 held by former South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney. The 3.5 sacks broke Garrett's own Texas A&M freshman record for highest single-game total.

10/18: Alabama 59, Texas A&M 0

Texas A&M's offense, which was fourth in the country in total yards entering the game, managed just 172 against the Crimson Tide. Alabama set a school record for points in a quarter, scoring 35 in the second, and tied the second-most points scored in a half in school history with 45. The Aggies were shut out for the first time since losing 77-0 to Oklahoma in 2003.

10/11: Ole Miss 35, Texas A&M 20

The Aggies dropped their second game in a row. Quarterback Kenny Hill threw for 401 yards and two touchdowns but also had two interceptions. The ground game for the Aggies was ineffective, as Tre Carson led the way with just 29 yards. Freshman Speedy Noil finished the game with 11 catches for 105 yards. 

10/4: Mississippi State 48, Texas A&M 31

Kenny Hill was picked off three times by a stout Mississippi State defense as the Aggies dropped their first game of the season to the Bulldogs. After taking a 7-0 lead in the first quarter, the Aggies never led again. Dak Prescott and the Mississippi State offense racked up 48 points and 559 yards of total offense.

9/27: Texas A&M 35, Arkansas 28 (OT)

Texas A&M fought back from a 28-14 deficit in the third quarter to beat Arkansas in overtime. Kenny Hill threw for 386 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. Wide receiver Edward Pope caught four passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns.

9/20: Texas A&M 58, SMU 6

After topping SMU, the Aggies were off to their first 4-0 start since 2006. Wide receiver Jeremy Tabuyo had touchdown catches of 30 yards and 50 yards. Kenny Hill averaged 12 yards per attempt in throwing for 265 yards and two touchdown passes.

9/13: Texas A&M 38, Rice 10

The Aggies were outgained 481-477 but still earned a convincing victory. Defensive end Myles Garrett had 2.5 sacks, giving him 5.5 for the season, already a school freshman record. Hill became the first player in school history to throw for 1,000 yards in the first three games of a season.

9/6: Texas A&M 73, Lamar 3

Kenny Hill threw for 283 yards and four touchdowns before being pulled due to the lopsidedness of the game. In relief of Hill, backup quarterback Kenny Allen threw for 122 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. The Aggies combined for 225 rushing yards. Texas A&M held Lamar to 243 total yards.

8/28: Texas A&M 52, South Carolina 28

In his first game as the starting quarterback, Kenny Hill threw for a school-record 511 passing yards. Texas A&M's 680 total yards were the most South Carolina has given up in school history. The Aggies were successful on 12 of 17 third-down conversions.

Auburn

11/1: Auburn 35, Ole Miss 31

The Tigers came back from a 10-point third quarter deficit to win, effectively sealing the victory when linebacker Kris Frost forced a fumble of Ole Miss receiver Laquon Treadwell at the goal line with 1:30 remaining. The play unfortunately resulted in Treadwell sustaining a gruesome leg fracture. Quarterback Nick Marshall had a season-high 254 passing yards, adding two passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns. Auburn committed 13 penalties, its most since 2002.

10/25: Auburn 42, South Carolina 35

The Tigers won a high-scoring affair against the Gamecocks at home. Auburn racked up 395 rushing yards, led by Cameron Artis-Payne's 167 yards. Quarterback Nick Marshall had 10 carries for 89 yards and three touchdowns. He also completed 12 of 14 pass attempts for 139 yards and a touchdown. South Carolina had a chance to tie the game at the end, but Dylan Thompson's Hail Mary was intercepted. 

10/11: Auburn 23, Mississippi State 38

Auburn suffered its first loss of the season as the home-team Bulldogs downed the Tigers in coach Gus Malzahn's second regular season loss in two years as head coach. Mississippi State took a 21-0 lead in the first half and scored 10 points in the fourth quarter to secure the victory. Nick Marshall finished the game with 209 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Marshall also led the team in rushing, carrying 17 times for 108 yards.

10/4: Auburn 41, LSU 7

Auburn avenged its only loss of the regular season last year, beating LSU at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Marshall finished the game with 207 passing yards and two touchdowns, adding 119 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Sammie Coates went for 144 yards receiving, and Cameron Artis-Payne finished with 126 rushing yards. 

9/27:Auburn 45, Louisiana Tech 17

The Tigers beat the Bulldogs on homecoming weekend, amassing 254 rushing yards and 219 yards through the air.Artis-Payne (116 yards) and Marshall (105 yards) both rushed for more than 100 yards.Marshallalso completed 10-of-17 passes for 166 yards and three touchdowns.Quan Braywas the team's leading receiver with three catches for 91 yards.

9/18: Auburn 20, Kansas State 14

The Tigers took the lead for good on a 40-yard pass fromMarshall to Ricardo Lewis with 1:34 left in the first half. Marshall finished the game with 231 passing yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Auburn was aided by Kansas State's three turnovers and three missed field goals. 

9/6: Auburn 59, San Jose State 13

Cameron Artis-Payne ran for 112 yards and three touchdowns in Auburn's 24th straight non-conference win at home. The Tigers finished with 358 rushing yards, making it the 13th consecutive game in which they rushed for at least 200 yards, the longest active streak in the FBS. Auburn’s 109 points in its first two games are its most to open a season since scoring 122 in its first two games in 1995.

8/30:Auburn 45, Arkansas 21

Jeremy Johnson started in place of the suspended Nick Marshall and threw for 243 first-half yards, becoming the first Auburn quarterback to top 200 yards in a half since Cam Newton in 2010. The Tigers improved to 306-5 all-time when scoring at least 30 points.
