Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson will be dressed and ready to play as the backup in Saturday’s game against Wake Forest, coach Dabo Swinney told reporters.

Watson has been sidelined the past two games after breaking his finger on Oct. 11 against Louisville. He underwent surgery to repair the bone and was expected to be out a month.

"He'll be dressed and ready if needed,” Swinney said. “He's continued to prepare the right way. He looks good."

The freshman quarterback was named the starter after coming on in relief of senior Cole Stoudt in Week 3 against Florida State. He has 1,176 yards with 12 touchdowns and two interceptions in six games. Stoudt has resumed the starting position following Watson's injury and has 494 yards for one touchdown and two interceptions in the last two games.
