Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Justin Worley will miss the rest of the team's season with a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder that will require surgery, head coach Butch Jones announced Tuesday.

Worley sustained the injury in Tennessee's 34-3 Oct. 18 loss to Ole Miss.

Worley is a senior, so his college career is over unless he is granted a medical hardship waiver. In 17 starts for Tennessee, Worley threw for 3,556 yards and 23 passing touchdowns.

Sophomore quarterback Nathan Peterman started on Oct. 25 against Alabama, and classmate Josh Dobbs started last Saturday against South Carolina. Dobbs had 467 yards of total offense and five touchdowns, and won the starting quarterback job, according to Matt Slovin of The Tennessean.

Tennessee's (4-5) next game is Nov. 15 against the Kentucky Wildcats.
