Todd Gurley won't be available to media until after Auburn game

Georgia running back Todd Gurley will not be available for media interviews until after the Bulldogs' game against Auburn on Saturday.

Georgia running back Todd Gurley will not be available for media interviews until after the Bulldogs' game against No. 9 Auburn on Saturday, according to Chip Towers of TheAtlanta Journal-Constitution.

The game against the Tigers will be Gurley's first since being suspended indefinitely by the school on Oct. 9 while under investigation for accepting money for autographs. 

According to Towers, it's standard policy for Georgia coach Mark Richt​ to not allow players to speak to the media until after their first game back from a suspension. Towers reports that Richt won't allow any players to speak to the media on Monday and Wednesday and only "selected" players on Tuesday.

Gurley missed two games before the school applied for reinstatement following the completion of its investigation, which revealed that Gurley accepted more than $3,000 for autographed memorabilia and other items over a two-year period. The NCAA ruled that Gurley was to receive a four-game suspension, which makes him eligible to return this Saturday against Auburn. 

Last week, Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity said the school is considering pursuing legal action against any memorabilia dealers who paid Gurley for autographs.

The junior tailback has 973 all-purpose yards on the season and nine touchdowns. At the time of his suspension, his all-purpose yards were No. 2 in the FBS and his 773 rushing yards were No. 6.

With Gurley out, freshman Nick Chubb has handled most of the carries for the Bulldogs. He has 895 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on the season. Richt has said both will play against the Tigers.
